VQ35DE 3.5 V6 – Nissan 350Z Z33 & Infiniti G35 Head Gasket Keychain
VQ35DE — the V6 that defined the 350Z generation
The VQ35DE became one of Nissan's defining performance engines of the 2000s.
Its naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 combined an aluminium block and heads, twin overhead camshafts, 24 valves and continuously variable intake cam timing with the broad torque delivery that became a defining characteristic of the 350Z Z33 and Infiniti G35.
In the 350Z, the VQ35DE gave Nissan's reborn Z-car a very different character from the turbocharged straight-six and V6 performance cars that preceded it: large displacement, naturally aspirated response and a distinctive VQ exhaust note.
The engine was also produced in several specifications. The original DE used variable timing primarily on the intake side, while the later enthusiast-labelled “Rev-Up” VQ35DE introduced exhaust-side variable timing, revised cylinder heads, a higher rev limit and greater output.
This GasketKeys piece recreates the VQ35DE head-gasket profile as a compact stainless-steel tribute to the engine behind the Z33 350Z and its closely related Infiniti performance models.
