The VQ35HR was a major revision of the VQ35DE, with a reinforced and taller cylinder block, longer connecting rods, larger crankshaft journals, revised pistons, intake and exhaust cam phasing, and a 10.6:1 compression ratio. The VQ37VHR builds on the HR architecture with an 86.0 mm stroke, 11.0:1 compression ratio and Nissan’s VVEL continuously variable valve lift system.
